In this paper, we have designed and developed a digitized version of the digit symbol substitution test. Three different versions have been designed in order to derive. Several versions of a substitution test have been used in the army beta, the symbol digit modalities test (smith, 1973), and in the various wechsler intelligence tests. The digit symbol substitution test consists of a code r table displaying pairs of digits and symbols, and rows of double boxes with a digit in the top box and nothing in the bottom box. Specific studies and articles were reviewed to illustrate what the test measures, to evaluate its sensitivity to change, and to discuss its use in clinical practice.
